Passages -- Looking Back

Passages February -- February's cold has given way to the start of a great Spring! Passages is busy planning our next Prom, slated for Saturday, May 9th. More details are below - please spread the word. Looking back to a bitterly cold February, Passages took delivery of a great piece of donated art and continued delivering weekly services to LGBT youth in Kansas City. A little known fact is that Passages frequently provide services outside of Wednesday nights by answering email and phone calls from parents, guardians and youth in-need. For example, for our Trans youth who are looking to navigate mental and physical health resources in Kansas City Passages provide referrals to professionals in the community. How can you help Passages -- just share our story with a couple of your friends this month.

Have you signed up? Passages is continuing the campaign to sign-up 50 supporters who donate $20/month. Visit www.kcpassages.org and use the Subscribe option to enable PayPal to manage the monthly contribution -- and thank you for your support!

- We assist by partnering with community resource centers to lead discussions around coming out to help LGBT youth feel supported.
- We educate LGBT youth on dating safety, healthy relationships, and HIV and STI prevention, by providing materials not available in traditional classrooms.
- We encourage youth to remain healthy through periodic onsite STI screening and one-on-one risk assessments.
- We support LGBT youth by providing a safe, accepting, hate-free environment for them to express themselves.

Vision: A society where all youth feel safe regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression and are empowered to reach their full potential.
