Bob Bair (Board Member)
Bob B. is an internal audit manager at Sprint and recently joined the Passages board.

Carl Bennum (Board Member)
Carl B. is manager at Deloitte Consulting and active in their national LGBT enterprise resource group. Also active in the Kansas City community, he recently joined the Passages board and will help drive fundraising.

Jason Boman (Board Member & Facilitator)
Jason B. is an award-winning graphic artist and Kansas City native. With previous DJ experience, he helps manage the audio setup and supports our design / marketing needs.

Don Carrel (Board Member)
Don is an award-winning author of "My Dream to Trample AIDS". He has spoken to over 100,000 about his story and message on AIDS - a great addition to the Passages board with a strong perspective on outreach and advocacy.

Damon Jones (Board Member)
Damon is a Registered Nurse and a leader at Cerner who recently joined the Passages'''''''''''''''' board.

Jason Webb (Board Chair & Facilitator)
Jason W. grew up in rural Kansas and is an executive at Accenture, a leading global consulting firm. Along with being a facilitator, he assists with Passages operations, communications, and web site management.

Sara Wood (Board Member & Facilitator)
Sara ("Woody") has experience with various non-profit organizations, and she is an active member of the Kansas City Jazz rugby team. She demonstrates her multi-faceted positive strengths within Passages and the community.

All facilitators volunteer their time and energy to making Passages a wonderful place to be!



Our volunteers are the fuel that keeps the Passages Youth Center running. As volunteers, we love to see diverse, strong, and positive members of the community. Below are several open roles that we seek volunteer support for:

Volunteer Coordinator: screens volunteers through our rigorous interview, application, and background check process. Also responsible for coordinating schedules to ensure coverage of Wednesday nights and special events as needed.

Wednesday Night Facilitators: work in pairs, at a minimum, to open, run and close Passages operations on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 9pm. Also serve as mentors to youth in attendance. A background check is required to be a facilitator as well as a signed application/consent form.

Communications & Marketing Lead: responsible for 1x per day or more Twitter, Facebook, and other social media postings to promote Passages events and extend Passages'''' outreach to LGBT youth in the metro with relevant content. Works with Board, Programming Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator.

Newsletter Writer: writes monthly e-newsletter and distributes to existing email list. Template already exists along with CRM tool to manage distribution list. Inputs will come from Facilitators, Communications and Marketing Lead, Volunteer Coordinator and Board. Limited HTML / web interface skills needed to edit and publish. Occasional e-blasts needed to promote special events.

Programming Coordinator: works with supporting organizations + Wednesday night Facilitators and volunteer coordinator to define programming on a rolling 2 to 3 month basis. Requests budget (infrequently) from Board for special programs. Coordinates with Communications lead to publish and promote events to LGBT youth in the community.
