About Our Staff

Paul Di George (Board President)

Paul is our business operations guru. Paul keeps us on course to assure regulatory and fiscal compliance. Paul has a impressive resume within the IT management field. He helps facilitate Passages Youth Center since he found that growing up in the deep south, there were no positive resources for GLBT youth.

Scott Coker (Board Vice President)

Scott grew up in Dallas with parents that never judged any individual because of who they were, only to find such ignorance existed in the "real" world. It then became my challenge to educate the ignorant and to enlighten the "different" individuals of the world. Scott's previous non-profit organization experience includes six years helping the Minneapolis AIDS Project Center, Minneapolis Home Helper/Buddy System program for individuals affected with HIV and are in their last stages of life. Additionally, he is the former chair of DIFFA Minneapolis (2 years) and is a current member (8 years).

Sara Wood (Facilitator)

Sara ("Woody") has experience with various non-profit organizations, and she is an active member of the Kansas City Jazz rugby team. She demonstrates her multi-faceted positive strengths within Passages and the community.

All three facilitators volunteer their time and energy to making Passages a wonderful place to be!

Volunteers

Our volunteers are the fuel that keeps the Passages Youth Center running. As volunteers, we love to see diverse, strong, and positive members of the community. Since we understand that many people have many different activities they are involved with, all we ask is a minimum of two days per month from our volunteers or a more substantial commitment on a regular basis. Please email Scott for further information.

While it is very important to have a stable environment in these mentoring type roles for the Passages youth, it is also vital to expose them to a diverse group of individuals.

All volunteers must complete an application and sign a consent form for a background check to be performed. All volunteers must pass the background check.
